Did You Know: High-strength steel

The body of the all-new 2017 Kia Sportage is now comprised of 51 per cent high-strength steel, three times more than the previous model.
Kia, along with its corporate partner Hyundai, is the only automaker in the world that produces its own steel, and has steadily increased the use of this lightweight, high-strength alloy across the entire lineup.
Along with driving dynamics and a quieter ride, the most important advantages of using high-strength steel is crash protection and improved fuel economy.
