Review: 2016 Volkswagen Jetta 1.4 TSI
On the surface, the 2016 Volkswagen Jetta looks no different than any of the five model-years before it since the sixth-generation car was introduced in 2011.
But it's what is under the hood that really counts, and in this case what counts is a turbocharged 1.4-litre engine that replaces the previous 2.0-litre, known as the Two-Point-Slow.
What the 1.4-litre gives up in displacement it more than makes up for in power and efficiency, with 35 more horsepower and 59 more lb.-ft. of torque, for a total of 150 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque, and fuel economy rating of 5.9 L/100 km on the highway and 8.3 L/100 km in the city.
Also new for 2016 is the new MIB II infotainment interface, which adds smartphone integration and improved resolution and processing speed.
