Two-Minute Test Drive: 2015 BMW i8

2015 was a big year for electric vehicles.

In one fell swoop, the likes of Ferrari, McLaren and Porsche each released high-priced, low production hybrid super cars, dubbed hypercars, putting the world on notice that green can be cool—and fast.

If you weren't one of the lucky few with the resources—and luck—to nab one of those limited-run beauties then you're in luck, because the BMW i8 is an impressive alternative.

Cheap by comparison at $150,000, the i8 is a true-blue performance machine that just so happens to be powered by a combination of electric and gasoline power.
