Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with a manual transmission, the clutch pressure plate could overheat and break. If this happens, there would be a loss of power to the wheels. A broken pressure plate may also crack or break the transmission case. This could cause debris to fall from the vehicle. Safety Risk: A sudden of loss power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, debris from an overheated and fractured pressure plate could contact nearby parts and increase the risk of a fire. Parts that fall from the vehicle could create a road hazard for others, and increase the risk of injury. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail. The corrective actions for this recall are under development. Additional information may be available on Transport Canada's website |
