Issue: On certain trucks, a short circuit could occur in the electric power steering system. This can cause an intermittent loss of power steering assist. As a result, there could be sudden changes in steering effort, especially at low vehicle speeds. Safety Risk: Sudden changes in steering effort could affect a driver’s ability to control the vehicle and may increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: The company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the electric power steering gear.
