Issue: Certain vehicles may have been built with spot welds that were not properly applied to the duct below the cowl panel. This could reduce the vehicle’s body strength. Safety Risk: In a crash, the vehicle structure may not perform as designed. This could create an increased risk of injury. Corrective Actions: Subaru will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer for an inspection. If improperly applied spot welds are found, the owner will have the option of exchanging the vehicle, having it repurchased, or having the vehicle repaired at the factory.
