Issue: On certain vehicles equipped with a power operated tailgate, the tailgate lifting arms could freeze and fail.

This could create noise and cause the tailgate to stop working.

It could also cause the tailgate lifting arms to separate.

Safety Risk: If the tailgate arms separate, a spring may be projected rearward and create a risk of injury.

Corrective Action: The company will notify owners by mail.

Owners will be advised to take their vehicle to a dealer for replacement of the tailgate lifting arms.
