On certain vehicles equipped with a 2.4l engine, the engine may have a crack in the oil pump / balance shaft die cast housing which could cause the oil pump to fail. This could result in engine stalling, which would increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will inspect the oil pump / balance shaft module for cavity markings and replace the ones marked with the number 8.
