Certain vehicles may fail to comply with the requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) 208 - Occupant Protection in Frontal Impacts. During vehicle assembly, an outer seat belt position seat belt tongue may have been incorrectly installed onto the third row seating centre seat belt assembly. This would result in the seat belt tongue not latching when inserted in the centre seat belt buckle, and therefore would be non-compliant with the standard. In the event of a crash, an unlatched seatbelt may increase the risk of injury to the seat occupant. Correction: Dealers will inspect the third row centre seat belt for the correct tongue and replace as necessary. Additional information may be available on Transport Canada's website |
