On certain vehicles, the outer tubes of the rear liftgate support struts may have had insufficient anti-corrosion treatment applied during manufacturing. As a result, the outer tube could corrode due to salt and water penetration. If this were to occur, the liftgate support strut could rapidly lose pressure, which would allow the liftgate to drop suddenly, placing anyone beneath or near the gate at risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the rear liftgate support struts with updated ones. Additional information may be available on Transport Canada's website |
