On certain vehicles, some front halfshafts may contain a manufacturing defect related to the material hardening. This could result in a halfshaft breaking, causing a loss of motive power (on front wheel drive vehicles) and potentially damaging underbody components. In addition, the halfshaft could separate and become a road hazard for other motorists. These issues could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will replace both front halfshafts. Additional information may be available on Transport Canada's website |
