Certain vehicles may fail to conform to Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 126, Electronic Stability Control Systems. Vehicles without adaptive cruise control were built with a calibration that inhibits some Electronic Stability Control (ESC) diagnostics. As a result, some fault conditions will not be detected if they occur, and the ESC malfunction indicator light will not illuminate as is required by the standard. This could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will recalibrate the electronic brake control module.
