On certain vehicles, infiltration of moisture and road grime into the parking brake mechanism may eventually lead to corrosion and failure. As such, this may result in rear brake noise, the parking brake not releasing, or the inability to properly apply the parking brake. Should the vehicle be parked on a sufficient slope, the inability to apply the parking brake could result in unintended vehicle movement, which could cause a crash resulting in property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the rear brake caliper assemblies. Additional information may be available on Transport Canada's website |
