On certain vehicles, the brake pedal position switch may have been incorrectly programmed during vehicle assembly. As a result, the brake lamps may remain illuminated when the brake pedal is released. Failure of the brake lamps to operate as intended may result in the following road users being unaware of the driver's intentions, increasing the risk of a crash causing personal injury or death.
