VEHICLES MAY BE EQUIPPED WITH STOP LAMP SWITCHES THAT MAY HAVE BEEN CONTAMINATED WITH OIL. THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE THE SWITCH TO BECOME INOPERATIVE RESULTING IN A LOSS OF THE STOP LAMP FUNCTION. VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH OPTIONAL SPEED CONTROL UTILIZE THE STOP LAMP SWITCH TO DISENGAGE THE SPEED CONTROL MECHANISM. A VEHICLE OPERATING WITH AN INOPERATIVE SOPT LAMP SWITCH AND SPEED CONTROL ENGAGED CAN BE STOPPED BY APPLYING ADDITIONAL BRAKE EFFORT OR BY DEPRESSING THE SPEED CONTROL "OFF" BUTTON. .
