The XC90 has had a rather stable career. Unveiled in 2002, its general appearance remains untouched, and it’s far from unpleasant. There’s a 3.2-litre in-line six-cylinder delivering 235 hp and 236 lbs-ft of torque or a 4.4-litre V8 featuring 311 hp and 325 lbs-ft of torque. In both cases, it has a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The passenger compartment is comfortable, but it’s the vehicle’s safety record that’s attracting all the attention.
