Toyota Highlander
Introduced in Canada back in 2001, the Highlander is now halfway through its fourth generation. The lineup includes six trim levels (LE, XLE, XLE Bronze Edition, XSE, Limited and Platinum) and two powertrain options—a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine producing 265 horsepower and a hybrid system built around a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine that delivers 243 net horsepower. Driving the Highlander is not a thrilling experience by any stretch, but this midsize SUV offers safe, reliable transportation.
