Subaru Ascent
Following a mid-cycle refresh for 2023, the Ascent is unchanged this year. Under the hood is a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 260 horsepower through a continuously variable transmission. It has the tough task of moving an SUV that weighs over 2,000 kg, especially with seven or eight people on board. The interior is ergonomic and comfortable but far from the most spacious in its class. As always, Subaru’s AWD system manages to shine.
