For some, this big SUV with its ultra-flat sides is a throwback. Indeed, it was created a few decades ago, but this heavyweight continues to interest a certain class of well-to-do people who like the retro look. However, neither the mechanics nor the powertrain are vintage. There’s even an AMG version of the G-Class with a truly extraordinary 500-hp engine. The AWD is now ruled by electronics.
