Hyundai began to electrify its lineup in 2017 with the launch of the IONIQ sedan. For 2022, this model continues to be available in regular hybrid and plug-in hybrid configurations, the latter with close to 50 kilometres of EV range. However, the fully electric variant has been dropped to make room for the more advanced and longer-range IONIQ 5 crossover, which spearheads Hyundai’s next-generation EV offensive going forward.
