Ford Explorer
In 2011, the Explorer came out with a new shape and monocoque chassis. Last year, Ford introduced a Sport version with a V6 twin-turbocharged engine. This year, it’s the status quo: no changes have been made. Both of the other versions keep the same engines, namely a V6 for the less expensive trim and a four-cylinder Ecoboost for more torque. With FWD or optional 4x4, all the Explorers have a six-speed automatic transmission.
