It's time to call a spade a spade: the Fiat 124 Spider is a slightly modified Mazda MX-5. Want proof? Just look at the cabin and exterior lines. Under the hood, however, the Fiat features a turbocharged 1.4-litre four-cylinder developing 160 horsepower (164 in the Abarth sport version). As a result, the 124 Spider is a little more powerful than the Mazda and its 2.0-litre, naturally-aspirated engine. Both available manual and automatic gearboxes are six-speeds.
