The Chevrolet Volt is a compact hatchback using one of the first extended-range hybrid drivetrains on the market. The Chevrolet Volt, with standard wall outlet rechargeable batteries, offers more than 60 allelectric kilometres before its gasoline engine kicks in for a total range over 600 kilometres. The Volt makes use of a special continuously-variable automatic transmission, produces 149 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque, and offers good acceleration for a vehicle of its size.
