The Cobalt falls into the compact segment. Its competitive price and good equipment level make it an attractive choice. Most versions are powered by a 155 horsepower 2.2-litre four-cylinder engine, but the SS coupe gets a little more power with a 2.0-litre turbo engine producing 260 horsepower. All versions are equipped with a five-speed manual transmission. Automatic transmission is optional. The Cobalt will soon be replaced by the Cruze.
