Rising prices and supply chain disruptions are mostly to blame for the fact that new light-duty vehicle sales in Canada hit their lowest total since 2009 last year, with only 1.49 million units.
Despite being down 1.3 percent, Ford remained the best-selling brand in Canada for the 14th consecutive year, with 240,325 units sold. More notably, the Toyota Corolla found 33,096 takers and ended the Honda Civic’s remarkable 24-year reign as the most popular car in the country.
