2015 Nissan Micra: Small Car for a Small Price?

The Micra is actually quite decent looking, isn't it?

The dashboard is more ergonomical than it is nice.

If it was any simpler than this, it would be a bicycle.

The radio is easy to use but the screen is pretty small.

Only three dials – can’t get much easier than that. In one of the versions we test drove, they were abnormally hard to turn. In the other, they were just perfect.

Hand-me-downs from the Cube?

In one of the Micras we test drove, there was this oddly placed band of rubber.

The storage spaces are few and far between, but the glove compartment is very deep. So deep in fact that you can't touch the back if you remain seated in the driver's seat.

The driver's seat in most versions includes an armrest. The seats are comfortable.

The rear bench isn't particularly comfortable, but at least it's roomy (for a city car, of course).

Small trunk and high loading threshold.

The seatbacks don't form a flat bottom but that's par for the course for cars in this category.

The tools to change a tire and a few small storage areas. By the way, the spare tire is located under the car, like with pickup trucks. You'll have to maintain the cable that holds it in place so it doesn't rust.

1.6 litres. four cylinders, 109 horsepower and 107 lbs.-ft. of torque. The fuel consumption is decent but we were expecting better from such a small car.

Four-speed automatic.

Five-speed manual.

The Nisan Micra is shorter than the Nissan Versa Note and the Honda Fit but longer than the Chevrolet Spark.

For a fee, you can customize the colour of the Micra’s accessories, and there are several possible combinations. This car is metallic blue while the door handles, rearview mirrors and side and rear stripes are white.

The hatch opening is small, in keeping with all other aspects of this car!

There’s no interior handle to close the trunk. You’ll have to get your hands dirty in winter.
