Nissan NV Commercial Van On Sale by Spring
Earlier this week, Nissan Canada announced the much-anticipated Nissan NV commercial van will hit the Canadian auto show circuit this winter with stops in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. As Nissan’s most researched model in the history of North America, the new vehicle will arrive in select Nissan dealerships across Canada in spring.
“We spent over five years researching what North American businesses really want and need in a commercial vehicle and the result is a business tool that makes the job easier,” said Mark McDade, Director of Marketing, Nissan Canada, Inc. “The Nissan NV line-up provides innovations never before offered in this segment and we’re looking forward to showing Canadians the new industry benchmark.”
The Nissan NV is a full-size commercial van that should compete with the well-known and recognizable Sprinter, and will be available in three models, NV1500, NV2500 and NV3500, with two roof configurations (standard roof and high roof). The NV is the first high roof commercial van to offer rugged body-on-frame construction, allowing most users to walk and stand in the cargo area. NV’s rugged, masculine design also combines a full-length hood with convenient access to the engine for service and maintenance.
The Nissan NV’s design is also unique, with signature Nissan styling cues such as large headlights and vertical grille. The broad bodysides project a serious commercial vehicle appearance and provide ample room for company logos or advertising messages. The tall, wide doors offer easy access to the cab and cargo areas.
Inside the cab is promised to be roomy and comfortable with wide, supportive seating and lots of legroom for the driver. The passenger seat includes a segment-exclusive fold-down feature, providing a convenient worktable. An available centre console offers innovative storage compartments and space to hold binders and a laptop computer. Other convenient storage spaces include a wide overhead console (available with High Roof models) and large door pockets.
But the interesting news is under the hood, where a choice of two powerful yet fuel-efficient engines – a 4.0-litre V6 and 5.6-litre V8 will be. Both will be mated to a standard 5-speed automatic transmission.
