BMW Limiting Upcoming 1 Series M Coupe Production to 2,700?

After literally years of development, the 1 Series M coupe is finally on the cusp of its arrival. As the spy photos stacked up, enthusiasts clamored for the wildly flared coupe while critics gesticulated that the diminutive sports coupe may represent the ultimate expression of the M badge.

But, if rumours are to be believed, apparently only 2700 of those clamouring fans will be able to enjoy the ultimate M car. According to sources, the car will be a very limited production, with colour choice limited to just three shades and transmission choice limited to a six speed manual. And although Alpine White, Jet Black or Valencia Orange Metallic may all be fine choices, the news is a slap in the face to those that thought the 1 Series M Coupe represented a return to the small, nimble, quick, and attainable BMW of yore.
