Ferrari Recalls 458 Italia Over Engine Fires

When the Lamborghini Miura first appeared on the scene, it was known for two things: it’s existence as the first supercar, and it’s propensity for bursting into flames.
Now, apparently, the new Ferrari 458 Italia is following in the Miura’s footsteps. Recalling the F430’s successor due to an increased risk of engine fires, Ferrari has cited some engine bay adhesive as the cause. Affixing a heat shield to the engine bay itself, Ferrari’s fix is to remove the adhesive and use rivets to replace the heat shield, negating any chance of the offending adhesive acting as accelerant.
