Jeep Has a New Wrangler for Backcountry Adventures
The Jeep Wrangler is expanding once more with the addition of a limited-edition Wrangler 4xe Backcountry based on the Sahara 4xe model and offering enhanced content and off-road gear.
It starts with steel bumpers at both ends, a Mopar single-loop grille guard up front, rock rails on each side and aggressive General Grabber A/T tires mounted on unique 20-inch wheels.

Special decals adorn the hood, fenders and rear swing gate, bringing an extra dose of style. By the way, all current exterior colours are available including the new-for-2025 ’41 (dark olive).

The new Backcountry model gets even more interesting with a front TrailCam for easier navigation on tight, sketchy trails, as well as a Trailer Tow package that provides a turnkey solution for drivers who need to tow a trailer on a regular basis.
Meanwhile, the portable Jeep Power Box plugs into the Wrangler 4xe’s charge port and draws energy from the high-voltage battery pack. It offers four 120V, 15-amp outlets to power small appliances, tools and accessories on camping trips, backcountry adventures, tailgate parties and more.
While Jeep didn’t release pictures of the interior, it said the Wrangler Backcountry 4xe features a nine-speaker Alpine audio system, GPS navigation, Mopar all-weather slush mats and auxiliary switches for accessory installation.

What’s more, with the Integrated Adventure Guides powered by Trails Offroad, drivers will also find on their 12.3-inch touchscreen detailed trail guides for more than 60 Jeep Badge of Honour trails in the U.S. with difficulty ratings, route descriptions and key waypoints. Canadians need to pay for a premium subscription to unlock more than 3,000 trail guides across North America.
Just like every other Wrangler 4xe, the new Backcountry pairs a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with an electric motor for a total of 375 horsepower. The 17.3kWh high-voltage battery delivers 35 km of pure electric range in ideal conditions.
Jeep will limit production to 5,800 units for North America, although it didn’t specify how many of those will be allocated to Canada. Pricing on this side of the border starts at $76,190 including $2,195 freight and PDI, which is nearly $9,000 more expensive than a Wrangler Sahara 4xe and just $1,600 below the price of a Wrangler Rubicon 4xe. Dealers are accepting orders as of today.
