Electric Chrysler Crossover’s Developement Now Paused
It’s hard to figure out where Chrysler is going exactly. The current lineup is limited to a pair of minivans, the Pacifica and Grand Caravan, with the former set to add an electric variant around late 2026, as CEO Christine Feuell announced last November.
Remember the electric crossover that we’ve been promised for a few years, starting with the Airflow concept? Well, things are even more puzzling, here. As a matter of fact, the project is now on the back burner.

In an email shared with suppliers and obtained by Mopar Insiders, the company wrote that “the C6X (CA) program has been put on hold until further notice” and that “any spending associated with this program should be suspended immediately.”
To be clear, C6X is the codename for the future vehicle that was supposed to take over from the Airflow and embody a completely new design language previewed by last year’s Halcyon concept. Feuell indicated recently that elements from the Halcyon would find their way into an upcoming production model, without being more specific.
Chrysler has released a statement, per Automotive News, confirming that “the program is paused for now as we assess the market and our customers’ needs and wants.”
It also said that a new crossover is coming soon after the launch of the refreshed Pacifica, which is due in 2026. The type of powertrain that will be used has not been identified yet, however.
Despite an impressive rebound in the fourth quarter (+166%), Chrysler’s U.S. sales fell 7% in 2024. It was the same thing in Canada, with sales skyrocketing late in the year (+418%) but down overall for 2024 (-1.3%). Sales are expected to stabilize in 2025.
