Four Separate Recalls Affecting 295,000 Ford Vehicles in Canada
Ford had a nice thing going on Friday, what with the announcement of two hot new Mustangs and the Ranger winning the 2025 North American Truck of the Year award, but then Transport Canada posted four separate safety recalls affecting nearly 300,000 nationwide.
The largest recall involves around 260,000 F-150 pickups from 2015-2020, although the issue is not major. In some cases, the windshield wiper linkage could corrode and seize. If this happens, the wipers may not work, compromising visibility for the driver. Dealers will therefore replace the windshield wiper linkage as a precaution.

The F-150 is part of another recall, more specifically the F-150 Lightning. On 1,599 units from 2023-2024, the nuts for the ball joints that connect the front upper control arms to the steering knuckles may not have been properly tightened. As a result, the upper control arms could separate from the knuckles and cause a loss of steering control. Dealers will perform an inspection, and if any loose or missing nuts are found, they will replace the steering knuckle(s) and nut(s).
Still with trucks, just under 25,000 Super Duty units from 2020-2022 equipped with a 6.7-litre diesel engine are being recalled due to a high-pressure fuel pump that could fail, causing the engine to run rough and possibly resulting in a sudden loss of power while driving. The remedy is fairly simple, mind you. Dealers just need to update the powertrain control module software.
Finally, the fourth recall affects the plug-in hybrid variant of the 2020-2024 Ford Escape and 2021-2023 Lincoln Corsair—8,825 units to be exact. A problem inside the high-voltage battery could cause a short circuit. If this happens, there could be a loss of power to the wheels and/or the high-voltage battery could overheat.
Here, the fix is an update to the battery energy control module (BECM) software. The software will monitor the high-voltage battery and warn owners if it detects a problem. In that case, owners will have to contact a dealer to arrange replacement of the battery.
