Honda Civic Recaptures Canada’s Best-Selling Car Crown
The Honda Civic is once again the best-selling car in Canada, a title it held for 24 consecutive years before the Toyota Corolla took over in 2022 and 2023.
Up 14.3 percent from the previous year, Honda’s compact car finished 2024 with 31,774 units sold nationwide, while its domestic rival dropped 8 percent and wound up with 25,988 units.

And yet the Civic is more expensive than the Corolla, which is The Car Guide’s Best Buy in the segment. Admittedly, the latter is getting old, while the former is fresh from a mid-cycle update (for the 2025 model year) including the return of the Civic Hybrid.
Thanks to its solid performance in 2024, the Civic is back among the overall top 10 best-selling vehicles in Canada—the only passenger car in the group, by the way. Come back on Saturday to find out what the other nine are.
