2025 Porsche 911 Carrera S Goes to the Gym, Adds Muscle and Bite
The 2025 Porsche 911 lineup today welcomes a significantly upgraded 911 Carrera S that closes the gap between the base 911 Carrera and the new 911 GTS T-Hybrid. The model now achieves performance levels that used to be reserved for the previous-generation GTS, the German automaker claims.
The main highlight is a revised twin-turbo 3.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine that delivers 30 extra horsepower for a total of 473 horsepower. Peak torque is unchanged at 390 lb-ft. Among other things, Porsche fitted new turbochargers and extensively optimized the charge-air cooling system, which is now based on the design for the old 911 Turbo models.

As a result, with the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK) sending power to the rear wheels, the 2025 911 Carrera S accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 308 km/h. Just to be clear, no manual gearbox is available once again.
Extensively Equipped
More good news: Porsche has significantly upgraded the standard equipment in the 911 Carrera S, which includes the staggered tire fitment with 20/21-inch Carrera S wheels, a sports exhaust system with silver tailpipes, and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV+)—the latter unavailable in base Carrera trim.
There’s also new brake system, featuring red calipers and discs measuring 408 mm at the front and 380 mm on the rear, in order to ensure outstanding rates of deceleration and provide a considerable upgrade in terms of driving dynamics, the company notes.
Naturally, many more performance goodies are part of the mix, too. On request, Porsche offers the track-proven Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system and the PASM sports suspension, which features a 10mm lower ride height combined with rear-wheel steering. The damper hydraulics have been optimized to improve drivability with increased precision and refined responsiveness. Furthermore, the steering, in combination with rear-axle steering, is more direct and the kinematics of the front axle have been adjusted. Ultimately, this translates into even more agile handling while also greatly increasing stability at high speeds.
Two or Four Seats
As for the interior of the 911 Carrera S, a leather package in Black comes standard. The seats, headrests, dashboard, door panels and optional rear seats in the Coupe are trimmed with smooth-finish leather. As with other Carrera models, the folding rear seats are available at no additional charge as an alternative to the standard two-seater layout. The Cabriolet is equipped with rear seats.
If you’re a real fan of leather, you can also add some to the glove box lid, side panels and seat base. On request, Porsche offers chalk-coloured contrast stitching. And don’t forget the optional lift system for the front axle, or the Sport Chrono package including the Porsche Track Precision app, which is ideal for track days.
How Much?
The new 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera S can be ordered right now. Prices in Canada start at $159,700 for the Coupe and $174,000 for the Cabriolet—an increase of $9,600 and $9,300, respectively, from 2024. Somehow, we don’t think that’s a bad deal at all.
