Delayed electrification plans, changing regulations, mergers and acquisitions - 2024 was a year full of twists and turns in the automotive industry. But just like every year, several manufacturers have taken the stage to unveil concepts that define their future.

Jaguar Concept Type 00
Struggling Jaguar has completely changed its brand image this year. While the new look may not have won the unanimous approval of Jag enthusiasts, it did give birth to a concept, the Type 00. This styling exercise, which provides a small glimpse of the future of the brand, is based on an electric platform capable of providing nearly 700 km of range in a sleek coupe package.
Cadillac Opulent Velocity
Now that GM has figured out its electric platform and has scaled its EV production, the automaker wants to garnish the Cadillac catalogue with luxury electric vehicles. The Opulent Velocity concept is inspired by the brand's competition heritage, and aims to embody the spirit of Cadillac's V-Series by pairing sportiness and luxury in an electric car.
Genesis GV60 Magma Concept
Just as AMG is for Mercedes-Benz, and M is for BMW, Magma aims to become the performance division of the Genesis brand. And the GV60 Magma is the first concept chosen to give birth to a production model in 2025.
Polestar BST Concept
Unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Polestar's BST Concept is a sports coupe with competition aspirations. Entirely electric (of course), it incorporates all Polestar's best in terms of EV chassis development. The BST, whose name is inspired by the contraction of the word “Beast”, had not revealed its technical details at this time.
VinFast VF Wild Concept
Vietnamese manufacturer VinFast needs to expand its catalogue to make its mark in key industry segments. Earlier this year, the brand presented the VF Wild midsize pickup concept, whose doors open in opposite directions and whose partition separating the bed from the cab can be folded down electrically along with the rear seats, increasing floor length from 5 to 8 feet.
Hyundai INITIUM Concept
The hydrogen dream is not dead. At least, not at Hyundai! This year, the Korean automaker presented the INITIUM concept, featuring an electric motor powered by a hydrogen fuel cell developing up to 201 horsepower. The concept could, according to the brand, travel more than 650 km between refuelings.
Lotus Theory 1 Concept
The Theory 1 offers a glimpse at Lotus’s future. Its distinguishing feature is a three-seat configuration in the cabin, with the driver in the middle, similar to the legendary McLaren F1 of the 90s. It is powered by an all-electric engine developing 987 hp.
