Top 10 Most Expensive Cars Sold on Bring a Trailer in 2024

Once again, many classic cars changed hands for prices that defy belief in 2024. And watch out on February 1, 2025, because RM Sotheby’s will auction the 1954 Mercedes-Benz W 196 R Stromlinienwagen that helped the legendary Juan Manuel Fangio win the 1955 Buenos Aires Grand Prix. It’s estimated to be worth over 50 million euros, or $74 million CAD.

10. 2022 Ford GT ’64 Heritage Edition – 1.221 million USD

This 2022 Ford GT is one of just 27 examples built in the ’64 Heritage Edition to commemorate the 1964 GT prototypes that led to Ford’s victories at Le Mans between 1966 and 1969. It is finished in Wimbledon White with an over-the-top stripe and exposed carbon fibre accents.

9. 1961 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster – 1.355 million USD

Tied with another 300SL, this 1961 model is among approximately 270 examples that were manufactured with a cast-iron block and four-wheel disc brakes. It underwent a refurbishment between the 1980s and early 2000s and received a repaint in its original shade of Graphite Gray in May 2024.

8. 1959 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster – 1.355 million USD

This 1959 Mercedes-Benz 300SL is one of 211 examples that were manufactured that year. It was sent to HK Engineering in Germany for a refresh that included the installation of a Getrag five-speed manual transmission, four-wheel disc brakes and a 300 Adenauer steering box.

7. 2019 Porsche 935 – 1.6 million USD

This 2019 Porsche 935 is the 13th of 77 examples built as a track-only, non-homologated homage to the original 935 racing platform. It was imported to Canada where it participated in the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park Drive Festival hill climb and the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame Celebration of Speed. The odometer reads 945 km.

6. 1988 Porsche 959 Komfort – 1.795 million USD

This 1988 Porsche 959 Komfort is one of 292 production examples manufactured between 1986 and 1988. In the mid-2000s, the car was imported to the U.S., where it spent several years in Florida. It is finished in silver over burgundy leather.

5. 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing – 1.825 million USD

This 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL is one of 1,400 Gullwing coupes built during a three-year production run. Equipped from the factory with optional Rudge knock-off wheels, it's been driven for more than 130,000 km.

4. 1934 Mercedes-Benz 500 K – 2.012 million USD

This 1934 Mercedes-Benz 500 K is one of 342 examples built with power from a supercharged 5.0-litre engine between 1934 and 1936. It is said to have endured the destruction of its body during World War II before being purchased in the 1960s by the owner of the Aalholm Automobil Museum, who commissioned the fabrication of a replacement body.

3. 2022 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 – 2.5 million USD

This 2022 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 is one of a planned 112 examples designated for production. It is finished in Ad Personam Oro Eleos over Nero Ade leather. Oh, and it has just 130 km.

2. 2018 Bugatti Chiron – 3.075 million USD

This 2018 Bugatti Chiron has just over 3,000 km. The optional exposed carbon fibre body is finished in blue at a cost of $315,000, and Italian red leather upholstery trims the cabin. 

1. 2022 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport – 4.1 million USD

This 2022 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport is one of 60 examples produced (certified by a plaque under the front hood) and has logged 8,690 km. The car is finished in “Pur Sport Split” white with gray exposed carbon fibre lower body panels over Tangerine leather upholstery. The window sticker lists standard features, $371,300 in options and an MSRP of $4,070,300.
