Over 30,000 Ford Vehicles Recalled in Canada as Previous Recalls Expand
Two of the latest recalls from Ford involve a total of more than 30,000 vehicles in Canada, particularly the Maverick.
On 21,212 pickups covering the 2022-2024 model years, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to display or to freeze when the vehicle is reversing. The same issue was the subject of a previous recall announced earlier this year, but it’s been found that more units are affected.

Rearview camera problems are commonplace, and the result is a growing list of recalls. Once again, the fix happens to be a simple software update, but it can’t be done over the air, so a visit to a dealership is required.
Incidentally, the refreshed-for-2025 Maverick, which features a larger 13.2-inch touchscreen, is not affected.
Another recall is aimed at 10,109 Maverick, Bronco Sport and Mustang Mach-E units from the 2023 model year exclusively. Their windshield wiper motor may not have been manufactured properly and could fail, compromising visibility for drivers. All three models are all built in Mexico but in two separate factories.
This recall replaces another one that was announced earlier in 2024. Units that have already been repaired under that recall don't require a new repair.
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise them to take their vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the windshield wiper motor.
