Updated, Longer-Range 2025 Kia EV6 Debuts at Los Angeles Auto Show
Los Angeles, California—Kia has a refreshed and upgraded 2025 EV6 on the way with increased battery capacity including 63 kWh as standard and 84 kWh available on Light Long Range, Wind and GT-Line models.
That means drivers can expect to travel longer distances on a full charge—up to 513 km in single-motor configuration with the larger battery (previously 499 km).

For 2025, Kia has slightly redesigned the EV6’s front and rear bumpers, given the headlights a Star Map signature similar to other recent products and fitted new-look alloy wheels ranging from 19-21 inches in size. Just like the larger EV9, the EV6 also gets a redesigned steering wheel with a flat top and bottom, as well as a curved digital display and new centre console.
All 2025 Kia EV6 models except the high-performance, AWD-only EV6 GT will be manufactured at the brand new Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America in Georgia. These include Light RWD, Light Long Range (RWD or AWD), Wind (RWD or AWD) and GT-Line (RWD or AWD). They’re scheduled to go on sale in the first half of 2025. Pricing has yet to be announced.
Power on Demand
Power and torque figures for the single-motor EV6 equipped with the smaller 63kWh battery are 167 hp and 258 lb-ft, respectively. Switching to the 84kWh pack increases output to 225 hp, while torque stays the same. Dual-motor EV6 models generate 320 hp and 446 lb-ft of torque.
All but the GT feature a new North American Charging Standard (NACS) charging port allowing direct access to most Tesla Superchargers in Canada and the U.S.
Taking a page from the new Hyundai IONIQ 5 N, the 2025 EV6 GT now delivers 601 hp and 545 lb-ft of torque. But wait, there’s a GT mode that can be activated for a total of 641 hp and 568 lb-ft. Furthermore, this model comes with new Virtual Gear Shift technology, which simulates a conventional transmission in a gas-powered vehicle. You’ll find the same thing in the 2026 Kia EV9 GT making its global debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
