VinFast VF 9 Deliveries in Canada Now Underway

Vietnamese automaker VinFast has officially begun delivering its second vehicle, the VF 9, to customers in Canada.

“We are very excited to officially hand over the VF 9, VinFast’s second e-SUV model in the Canadian market,” said Robert Muller, Deputy CEO of Sales & Marketing at VinFast Canada. “The VF 9 is one of the few seven-passenger, three-row electric all-wheel drive vehicle models on the market. We believe that the VF 9 will be the ideal vehicle for large families, delivering premium quality and a luxurious experience while maintaining excellent value.”

Larger and roomier than the VF 8, this three-row electric SUV starts at $77,321 in Eco trim and $81,321 in Plus trim (including all applicable fees) following price cuts of nearly 30 percent that were announced back in April.

In terms of range, the VF 9 Eco equipped with 20-inch wheels can travel up to 518 km, while the VF 9 Plus riding on 21- or 22-inch wheels is good for 462 km. The 123kWh battery can be charged from 10-70 percent in less than 35 minutes when plugged into a DC fast charging station, according to VinFast. In all cases, power and torque are rated at 402 hp and 457 lb-ft, respectively, enabling 0-100 km/h acceleration in 6.5 seconds.

While too expensive to qualify for federal and provincial EV incentives, the VF 9 offers an unbeatable 10-year/200,000km warranty. On the other hand, a number of features and services require a paid subscription, such as live traffic, satellite view, web browser, Android Auto integration and virtual assistant.

VinFast’s customer support network currently includes 10 showrooms and 57 certified collision centres in Canada—all located in Ontario, Quebec and B.C. More are expected to join the list in 2025.
