2025 Toyota RAV4 Gets Minor Price Hikes Ahead of Full Redesign
As previously reported, the top-selling SUV in the country soldiers on for one more year, with the next generation expected to debut as a 2026 model. And now that the 2025 Toyota RAV4 is on sale at dealerships nationwide, we can tell you that the company has decided to moderately hike prices across the lineup.
Before we go any further, you need to know that the only changes for 2025 are a new Army Green body colour with a choice of Black or Mocha interior on the RAV4 Trail, as well as new badges following the elimination of the “Prime” moniker.

The RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid variant gets a “PHEV” badge and now goes by the name “RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid,” making things clearer for shoppers, Toyota says. Meanwhile, the RAV4 Hybrid sports a new “HEV” badge.
And the hikes? They range from approximately $400-$550. For example, the base 2025 RAV4 LE AWD is up $405 to $37,125 including freight, PDI and other applicable fees.
When it comes to the RAV4 Hybrid, the cheapest model is still the LE, which now costs $40,075, an increase of $555. It’s about $5,000 below the new 2025 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid (starting at an all-inclusive price of $45,045), which features the same exact system producing 219 horsepower but trades improved throttle response for slightly worse fuel economy (6.2 L/100 km combined vs. 6 L/100 km).
As for the 2025 RAV4 PHEV, buyers now have to pay at least $55,285 before tax, which is $565 more than a comparable 2024 model. In top-line XSE Technology trim, you’re looking at $65,515. And don’t forget that Toyota’s interest rates are still among the highest in the auto industry, exceeding 7 percent in some cases.
Canadian sales of the Toyota RAV4 were up 3 percent after three quarters in 2024 versus the previous year, amounting to 57,763 units. The closest competitor, the Honda CR-V, sold 41,874 units during the same period.
The next-generation 2026 RAV4 will make its debut sometime in 2025, so keep following The Car Guide for all the latest details and announcements.
