All-New Acura ADX Teased Ahead of Fall Debut

We’ve known for a while that Acura is planning a small SUV that will slot below the best-selling RDX and give competitors like the BMW X1, Audi Q3 and Volvo XC40 a run for their money.

Called ADX, the vehicle will make its debut later this fall, but the company today offered a preview with four pictures of an A-Spec model.

The only shot of the exterior reveals a dynamic-looking rear section with a spoiler up top and taillights that mimic those of the new ZDX electric crossover. The interior features a standard panoramic moonroof, as well as available ventilated front seats and Bang & Olufsen audio system.

Acura claims the ADX “will build on the success of the Integra,” suggesting that the engine could be the same turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder. In the hatchback, this mill delivers 200 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. Will there be a more powerful Type S model? Your guess is probably as good as ours. Yes, the Integra offers one, but not the RDX, curiously.

"The all-new Acura ADX is another exciting model that we've added to our Canadian lineup to entice the next generation of Acura enthusiasts," said James Marchand, Assistant Vice President at Acura Canada. "The ADX's arrival will strengthen our exceptional offerings of premium, performance SUVs joining its attractive stablemates—our best-selling RDX, popular MDX and all-electric ZDX."

The official introduction or first public appearance could very well take place in late November at the 2024 Los Angeles Auto Show. The ADX will then go on sale early next year as a 2025 model. All-in pricing should start somewhere in the high $40,000 range.
