Ram 1500 Classic Isn’t Quite Dead Yet, Can Still be Ordered in Canada

In late April, Stellantis discontinued production of the Ram 1500 Classic for the Canadian market and planned to sell existing units in the following months. It later said that production for the United States and Mexico would also end later in 2024.

But lo and behold, the truck is back on Ram Canada’s website as a 2024 model. So, what’s going on?

“Based on consumer demand, Ram has announced a final limited production allocation to support the buildout of the 2024 Ram 1500 Classic in Canada,” a company spokesperson has confirmed to The Car Guide.

While this means the Ram 1500 Classic is still available to order, selection is exclusively limited to the Warlock Crew Cab 4x4 model with a 5’7” cargo bed. You can have it either with the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 or the 5.7-litre HEMI V8, as well as various packages adding features like a heated steering wheel and front seats, remote start and an 8.4-inch Uconnect display.

The appeal of the Ram 1500 Classic used to be its cheaper price, but in this case customers will need to spend just over $56,000 before tax—and that includes a huge manufacturer’s rebate of $9,000. It’s not only more expensive than a comparable 2023 model, but also awfully close to the significantly refreshed and updated 2025 Ram 1500 in base Tradesman trim, which costs $59,603 including all applicable fees and discounts.

Wasylyk noted that Canadian shoppers can contact their local Ram dealer for ordering and more information while supplies last. How long that will be is anyone’s guess.
