2025 Honda Civic Hatchback Drops Base Price, Adds Hybrid Option

Following the Civic Sedan, the refreshed 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback is now on sale in Canada. The first units will land in dealerships later this month from the Greensburg, Indiana assembly plant.

The company today announced pricing details for the three models available including Sport, Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid. The good news is that the base price is down approximately $2,700 versus 2024.

Forget the turbocharged 1.5-litre engine (180 hp), however. The latest Civic Hatchback comes standard with a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre engine offering less power (150 hp) but better fuel economy at an all-inclusive price of $33,416. Optionally, it can be specified with a new hybrid powertrain delivering a combined 200 hp for $37,205. You’ll need an extra $3,500 to move up to the Sport Touring Hybrid.

The gas engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission and achieves 7 L/100 km in a mix of city and highway driving. The electrified system will save you 2 L/100 km on average.

The 2025 Civic Hatchback features a more aggressive front fascia and grille inspired by the look of the high-performance Civic Type R. For an even sportier appearance, the new hybrid models get a distinctive body-coloured headlamp garnish and front lower spoiler. Black 18-inch wheels are always part of the package, while the Sport Hybrid also comes standard with a moonroof and dual-zone climate control.

The top-of-the-line Sport Touring Hybrid features the Civic's first integration of Google built-in. This includes apps like Google Assistant, Google Maps and more on Google Play. You’ll also find unique machine-finished wheels, leather seats, a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system, a 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and a wireless smartphone charger.

Whichever trim level you select, look for the whole suite of Honda Sensing safety and driver assistance technologies as standard with enhanced safety performance for 2025. This includes improved detection of motorcycles and bicycles for the Collision Mitigation Braking System, as well as smoother operation of Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist.

Honda expects hybrid models to account for 60 percent of total Civic sales in the near future.

The Car Guide is currently in Nashville, Tennessee to test drive both the 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback and the 2025 Civic Si Sedan. Don’t miss our full reviews.
