Porsche Celebrates a Half-Century of 911 Turbo With 50 Years Edition
Celebrations surrounding the Porsche 911’s 60th are far from over. And this time, the birthday cake goes to the Turbo model. Introduced in 1974, it is celebrating a half-century of production. And at Porsche, celebration always rimes with special edition!
Introducing the Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years. Based on the 911 Turbo S (of course), it will have a limited production of only 1,974 examples, a nod to the year during which the first 911 Turbo left the stables of the Stuttgart-based brand. Painted in Turbonite, the 911 Turbo 50 Years features matching Turbonite badges and wheels, along with charcoal gray accents in various places on the body that pay homage to the Turbo models of the 1970s.

Designers have also added a special touch that manifests itself when the driver opens the door, where a small LED spotlight projects the image of a turbocharger onto the ground.
That 70’s Interior
Inside, the seat inserts, door trims and other surfaces are covered in the legendary McKenzie tartan straight out of the 70’s. Contrasting Turbonite appliqué and stitching also adorn various cockpit elements. Above the glovebox, designers have affixed a commemorative plaque displaying the Turbo 50 logo and the model's limited chassis number. As is customary for the 911, the analog Porsche Design Subsecond clock sits atop the dashboard. This time, however, it features a special Turbo 50 design.
The commemoration of a classic 911 wouldn't be complete without a special optional livery. In this respect, the Heritage Design package brings a unique scheme based on the Aventurine Green paint with contrasting white appliqués. Additional graphic elements can be added, like a number plate on the doors. In the cabin, the package comes with its own distinctive features, such as instrument cluster dials and Sport Chrono clock in Aventurine Green.
Everything the Turbo S Has to Offer
In the rear, the Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years retains the Turbo S engine on which it is based, namely the twin-turbocharged 3.7-liter six-cylinder delivering 640 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. An 8-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK) channels power to all four wheels. The 911 Turbo 50 Years also offers the best of Porsche's technical arsenal to complement this cavalry, with features such as Porsche Traction Management (PTM), Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) and an electronically controlled locking rear differential. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) lowers the 911 Turbo 50 Years by 10 millimeters compared to the Turbo S, while a sport exhaust system with black tailpipes is on the standard equipment list.
A Matching Chronograph
Every 911 Turbo 50 Years owner will receive a Porsche Design matching watch. Equipped with the Porsche Design WERK 01.200 movement, this timepiece will have a limited production run of 1,974, each bearing the corresponding vehicle serial number on the case. Buyers who opt for the Heritage Design Package will even receive a special watch in the package's colors.
The Porsche 911 Turbo 50 Years can be reserved now at a starting price of $291,700. Deliveries are scheduled for early 2025.
