Acura Teases “Segment-Defying” New EV

Just like it did last year with its first-ever all-electric vehicle, the 2024 Acura ZDX, Honda’s luxury brand has chosen the upcoming Monterey Car Week in California to unveil a new EV model.

Don’t look for a production model, but rather a concept. Acura is not saying much about it for now, and the only picture we’ve been given as a teaser shows very little.

Based on the rear view, the vehicle appears to be short in height yet significantly wide, as the taillight bar emphasizes. It will be a “segment-defying SUV,” the company promises, one that previews a next-generation all-electric model—the first to be built in Ohio on Honda’s future dedicated EV platform. We’ll get plenty more details following the reveal in Monterey.

The Acura ZDX, which is also available in high-performance Type S trim (pictured above), was developed with the help of General Motors and rides on the Ultium platform. Production takes place alongside the Cadillac Lyriq in Spring Hill, Tennessee. Priced from $88,560 in Canada including freight and PDI, it delivers up to 500 horsepower and 489 km of range.
