2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Has Lower Base Price in Canada Than U.S.

The all-new 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona electric coupe, which will enter production shortly in Windsor, Ontario and start to arrive in Quebec and B.C. dealerships this fall, has some excellent news for Canadian customers.

You see, the base Charger Daytona R/T carries an MSRP of $54,995 plus $2,695 destination and additional fees, making it eligible to the $5,000 federal rebate and the $7,000 provincial rebate in Quebec. It’s too expensive to qualify in B.C., mind you, since the price limit for electric cars over there was recently lowered to $50,000.

Incredibly, this model is cheaper in Canada than in the U.S., where the base MSRP is set at $59,595. How about that?

When it comes to the top-line Charger Daytona Scat Pack, the Canadian MSRP is $86,995 plus $2,695 destination and additional fees. Obviously, no EV incentives are available with this one. South of the border, customers need to pay at least $73,190, which amounts to just over $100,000 CAD at the current exchange rate. So, again, the car is actually cheaper in Canada.

Electric Muscle

Despite what the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system might tell your ears, the new 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona doesn’t have a V8 engine but rather a pair of electric motors. In R/T trim, it generates 496 horsepower and 404 lb-ft of torque. With standard all-wheel drive and a mechanical limited-slip differential, acceleration from 0-97 km/h is achieved in 4.7 seconds and the quarter-mile run takes 13.1 seconds. Maximum range is estimated at 510 km.

There’s a Plus Group ($9,495) that includes leatherette low-back bucket seats with ventilation (finished in Demonic Red for an extra $695), a power rear hatch, head-up display, 360-degree camera system, 20-inch wheels and more. The Blacktop Group ($2,005) adds dark exterior badges and 20x9-inch Dark Aluminum wheels, the Sun and Sound Group ($3,695) packs a full glass roof and 18-speaker Alpine PRO audio system, while the Carbon and Suede Group ($3,995) gives you leather/suede high-back performance seats, door panels with carbon-fibre inserts, an dashboard with carbon fibre and suede, a suede headliner and A-pillars, carbon-fibre exterior mirrors and more.

Want more muscle? The Charger Daytona Scat Pack cranks output up to 670 horsepower along with 627 lb-ft of torque. Equipped with the Direct Connection Stage 2 Upgrade and Track Package, it sprints from 0-97 km/h in 3.3 seconds and completes the quarter-mile in 11.5 seconds (Drag mode FTW!). As for range, Dodge claims 418 km.

This high-performance model also offers Donut and Drift modes. We don’t need to tell you what those are for. What’s more, Line Lock gives the driver the ability to lock the front wheels, remove torque from the front axle and spin the rear tires to clean and warm up the tires before a launch. By the way, the wheels in Scat Pack trim are 20 inches as standard instead of 18 inches.

The optional groups are roughly the same, but there’s another one that includes Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar three-season tires in a size of 305/35ZR20XL up front and 325/35ZR20 in the rear.

More to Come

On top of that, 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona customers can choose either a Free2move Charge Home Package with a 48-amp Level 2 charging station or the Free2move Go Package which includes charging credits to be used at public charging stations on the Free2move Charge network, which was launched in 2023 by Stellantis. The car can be recharged from a 20% to 80% charge status in just over 27 minutes when using a Level 3 DC fast charger.

Sometime in the first half of 2025, Dodge will kick off production of the four-door variants. Then, in the second half of 2025, the gas-burning, Hurricane-powered Charger SIXPACK H.O. (550 horsepower) and Charger SIXPACK S.O. (420 horsepower) will follow. Pricing details for these models will be announced closer to their on-sale date.
