Nissan Slashes Ariya Prices By Up to $5,000

Things are going much better this year for the Nissan Ariya electric crossover, as evidenced by the 55-percent increase in Canadian sales after the first six months. In order to attract even more potential buyers, the company has just slashed prices by up to $5,000 on 2024 models.

"The revised pricing for the 2024 Nissan Ariya aims to enhance its competitive edge and provide optimal value to our customers in an ever-evolving electric vehicle market," Nissan Canada’s new president Trevor Longley said.

The entry-level Engage FWD model now carries a base MSRP of $49,998 instead of $52,998, a drop of $3,000. It boasts a 63kWh battery and provides a maximum range of 348 km according to Natural Resources Canada.

The second cheapest model in the 2024 lineup is the AWD-equipped, dual-motor Evolve e-4ORCE, which is down from $59,998 to $56,998. The battery is the same, but range is estimated at 330 km.

The longest-driving Ariya models are those featuring the 87kWh battery, starting with the Evolve+ FWD. This one can take you the farthest with a full charge—465 km to be exact. It is now priced $3,000 lower at $59,998. When opting for the e-4ORCE system, the new MSRP is $61,998 while range is 438 km.

Finally, the Platinum Package at the top of the lineup will now cost you $5,000 less, with a base MSRP of $64,998. Due to more generous content and a heavier weight, maximum range is slightly affected (428 km).

Keep in mind all these prices do not include $2,095 freight and PDI or $621 dealer charge. All 2024 Ariya models are eligible to a $5,000 rebate under the federal government’s iZEV program in addition to provincial incentives where applicable.

As another reminder, Ariya customers will be offered an NACS adapter starting this year, enabling them to connect their vehicle's charging port to NACS plugs at thousands of compatible Tesla Superchargers across North America. And next year, the automaker will begin offering EVs for the Canadian and U.S. markets with an NACS port already built-in, eliminating the need for said adapter.

When it comes to the best buys in the electric SUV/crossover segment for 2024, The Car Guide ranks the Nissan Ariya third behind the Hyundai IONIQ 5/Kia EV6 and the Volkswagen ID.4.
