Mazda CX-90 is Slightly Better Equipped for 2025
Mazda’s new three-row midsize SUV, the CX-90, returns for its sophomore year with slight equipment and pricing changes, mostly due to the arrival of the similarly sized, two-row-only CX-70. It will be available in dealerships later this summer.
Looking at models featuring the 3.3-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine with mild hybrid technology, the entry-level 2025 CX-90 GS (all-inclusive price of $47,995) sports new 19-inch silver metallic finish alloy wheels and roof rails. The GS-L model ($52,845) gains wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity along with wireless phone charging, a power rear liftgate with hands-free access and rear parking sensors.
Next up, the CX-90 GT ($57,445) is now offered with standard eight-passenger seating, although second-row captain's chairs can still be specified as a no-cost option. The centre screen grows from 10.25 inches to 12.3 inches, while the list of i-Activsense safety features expands to include Cruise and Traffic Support.
One step above, the GT-P model ($61,395) can also be ordered with eight- or seven-passenger seating. The top-line Signature ($65,395) continues with a six-passenger layout that maximizes space in the third row. This one is unchanged for 2025.
When it comes to CX-90 PHEVs combining a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with an electric motor and 17.8kWh high-voltage battery, the same three trim levels are back—GS ($56,995), GS-L ($61,845) and GT ($66,445). The second gets those new 19-inch silver metallic finish alloy wheels we mentioned earlier, while the most expensive of the three inherits the 12.3-inch centre display (with touch screen capability when using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto) as well as Cruise and Traffic Support.
All of them are eligible to a $2,500 rebate under the federal government’s iZEV program in addition to provincial incentives where applicable.
Remember, if you want the exact same SUV in a two-row configuration, the 2025 CX-70 is the one to go to. There’s no base GS model, however, so the lineup starts at an all-inclusive price of $51,945 with the turbocharged straight-six or $60,945 with the PHEV system.
