2025 Ford Maverick Sports Fresh Styling, New Tech, AWD Hybrid Option
Introduced three years ago, Ford’s small pickup is getting a significant mid-cycle update for 2025 including revised looks, a bunch of new technologies and a highly anticipated powertrain combo.
Let’s start with that last one. The Maverick Hybrid (191 hp) is finally adding an all-wheel drive option complete with an available package that doubles towing capacity to 4,000 lbs. According to Ford, fuel consumption in city driving increases from 5.6 L/100 km with FWD to 5.9 L/100 km with AWD.

The AWD hybrid combo can be had in XL, XLT or Lariat trim. By the way, the lineup officially welcomes a fourth model for 2025—Tremor. Now its own series, the former off-road package is paired with the 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine (down from 250 hp to 238 hp) and now includes a standard 360-degree camera and new one-pedal driving capability.
More Tech and Assistance
Inside, the 2025 Ford Maverick gets a 13.2-inch display that replaces the previous 8-inch screen. It is powered by SYNC 4 with enhanced voice recognition and compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A new built-in 5G modem allows the pickup to receive software updates to keep its systems up to date.
Drivers who need to tow—that’s nearly half of Maverick customers, Ford says—will appreciate the available Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist features, the latter making backing up a trailer as easy as turning a knob to indicate which direction the trailer should go.
In the safety department, every 2025 Maverick is equipped with standard Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking and Lane-Keeping Aid. New this year, Lariat and Tremor models benefit from Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane Centering and Speed Sign Recognition.
Fresh Looks
As you can see on the pictures, the little Maverick sports a redesigned grille, front bumper and headlights. Similar to the full-size F-150, the grilles now vary across trim levels to give each its own unique appearance. New 19-inch wheels in Lariat trim add further distinction.
There’s also a new Black Appearance Package featuring its own unique grille, black roof, black Ford badges and 19-inch gloss black wheels.
The cabin offers new trim colours and materials across the door, instrument panel, console and seats. The available Smoke Truffle theme with bronze accents is particularly eye-catching.
How Much?
The base MSRP for the 2025 Ford Maverick is $34,500 plus $2,195 destination and delivery. That’s for the FWD hybrid configuration, which returns as the default choice after being optional for 2024. Ford will accept orders starting tomorrow, August 1, with deliveries expected to begin in early 2025.
