Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Gains Sharper Reflexes With Precision Package

The mid-cycle update to the high-performance Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing for 2025 expands today with the addition of a Precision Package that enhances the compact sedan’s sporty handling both on and off the track. Even better, the luxury and comfort that define the brand are not compromised in the process, Cadillac assures.

The Precision Package includes stiffer springs, larger front stabilizer bar and revised suspension bushings, new front steering knuckles and rear suspension toe links allowing for more aggressive wheel alignment for track usage, as well as carbon ceramic brakes. What’s more, the MagneRide dampers, steering, chassis controls and electronic limited-slip differential have all been recalibrated.

These various enhancements will contribute to improved steering precision into the corner apex, increased stability on corner exit and more road feel for spirited driving situations.

“We built this vehicle to set records on some of toughest tracks around the world and reward the most discerning driving enthusiast,” said Brandon Vivian, executive chief engineer, Cadillac. “This new Precision Package will enable the CT5-V Blackwing to be incredibly light on its feet at all speeds—both on road and track.”

Like other 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing models, this one sports a more aggressive appearance, especially when equipped with the updated Carbon Fiber Package with splitter. The front grille is more prominent and flanked by new headlights.

A big change for 2025 is the new 33-inch LED touchscreen that is capable of a stunning 9K resolution and curves toward the driver in a single, continuous display spanning the driver’s viewing area. The infotainment system incorporates a customizable user interface and is the gateway to the car’s many technologies, including new Google built-in.

There’s also an enhanced in-vehicle Performance Data Recorder, which comes with a new Performance in-vehicle app featuring real-time display of power, torque and boost, live dyno graph-style trace of power and torque with interactive analysis, as well as an array of performance gauges like g-force, tire temperature and engine vitals.

Unsurprisingly, the engine is the same supercharged 6.2-litre V8 delivering 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, but a 10-speed autobox can be specified, too. Power is sent to the rear wheels exclusively.

While production of the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is underway at the Lansing Grand River assembly plant in Michigan, the Precision Package will follow early in 2025. Additional details and pricing will be announced closer to launch. The BMW M3 needs to watch out.
